We really loved this hotel! It's centrally located, within walking distance of the train station and ferry port (about 15 minutes), as well as the covered shopping arcades that have lots of options for restaurants, cafes, and shops. It's about a 20 minute walk to the gorgeous Ritsurin Gardens which are really stunning. This hotel just felt so welcoming and homey, I was a bit sad to leave! The staff are amazing. Everyone who works there from the front desk staff to the restaurant staff to the cleaners go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay. For example, one day I inadvertently put out the "do not disturb" sign instead of "make up my room". We came back very late from a long day out to realize my mistake (not really a huge issue, but it is nice to get fresh towels and have the trash emptied..). There was a bag outside our door which contained everything we needed: fresh towels, trash bags, tea, coffee, pajamas, water, etc. How thoughtful is that??? I have never experienced that at a hotel before. Similarly, when we arrived we had missed the cut-off for their laundry service, but the front desk staff went out of her way to locate a coin-op laundromat on a map for us. The "club lounge access" was also a highlight of our stay here. Between 4pm and 10pm, guests can come to the 4th floor lounge for free drinks and light snacks. That was such a nice way to wind down from being tourists! There is "tea time" from 4-6, "cocktail time" from 6-8, and "bar time" from 8-10. Towards the end of the latter they put out rice with different toppings as a late-night snack. We really enjoyed this added perk and it was fun to chat with other guests. Breakfast is really good too. There is a western option and a Japanese option, as well as a small selection of help-yourself fresh fruit, yogurt and salad.

I liked the retro vibe of the hotel, it felt very 1920s-1930s. The theme was consistent throughout the facilities, from the entrance to the lobby, club lounge and the rooms. The cosmetic products were really high quality, especially the conditionner and body lotion. I was particularly impressed with the service quality. All the staff was friendly, professional, helpful and extremely polite. All the staff from the club Lounge cocktail time and breakfast were so nice in doing their absolute best to communicate with us despite the language barrier to encourage us to eat before closing time and showing us how to eat local foods. Breakfast was very tasty and beautifully presented. The rooms were very clean. I think the best part about this hotel is truly how nice the staff is. Customer service here is 10/10.

It is a beautiful hotel in a central location in Takamatsu close to transport and shopping. The hotel has a traditional design and very well maintained. Even though i was traveling alone, I booked a standard double and it was fine. The staff are friendly and customer service was always top class. The breakfast was good - choice of western or Japanese waiter service + buffet for coffee, juice, bread and side dishes. Depending on your schedule the lounge is worth paying the supplement for if you are going to use it - comfortable, relaxing with free snack and drinks - a good place to chill after sightseeing and before going out. I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would recommend it unreservedly.

I love thé feel of this hotel when I step into the lobby. I love thé art déco styling throughout the hotel. The exterior is rather plain - but … don’t let that fool you. The service is exceptional. Highly recommend “Club Level”. amazing value!! stellar breakfast (Japanese or western), tea time, bar time and cocktail time PLUS at 9 pm there is the most delicious ochazuke bar. all of these happen in the well styled “library” this was our second stay - and we made the trip 5 nights so that we could enjoy the hotel the concierge was so helpful with researching activités etc definitely a 5 star experience

The hotel has Lovely old-world charm and a level of service to match that you just don’t often see today. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable! The purpose for our stay was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I had contacted ahead of time and the head concierge had worked hard with lots of extra touches to make our stay memorable! Nothing was a problem and she went over and above to help make a memorable stay! The lounge was great and all the special food options they provide and we had a lovely dinner at the restaurant also!
